ive read you should aim for 30% amber because amber is 90% as potent as white trichs where cloudy is only 50% as potent.

assuming you aim for 30% amber would the plant stop throwing out new pistils and creating more clear trichomes.

i have some amber on a current plant bit also white pistils and clear pistils thats probably a couple weeks before they mature

Looking on trichomes early is not a good marker for maturity. You may see patches that looks done with amber 2 months before harvest, that doesn't in any way tell you the maturity of trichomes inside of the flowers. That's why overall structure and calyx maturity is better markers for maturity.

Trichomes mature faster than the flower clusters and this is a problem for people starting out. I still have close friends who always harvest to early and will never learn. He thinks I'm a wizard while I tell him he can improve on the same things, he never does.
