Bureaucrats hate to give up power.

How about get your grubby mitts off the People's medicine and actually find something useful to do on the taxpayer's dime, assholes!

WTF, ONLY 4 PLANTS 100CM TALL PER RESIDENCE????

That's basically carte blanche for Mounties. Who can grow sufficient meds for their needs like that?

If they want to reduce fire hazards, outlaw HID lighting.

The entire situation is completely slanted and stupid.

Holy Shit you gotta be fucking kidding me!!!

"...but with a limit on four plants per home, and a height restriction of 100 centimetres to reduce fire risks."

What kind of logic is behind statements like that? And this one here:

"Unlike tomatoes, it is a substance that poses certain significant … social and health harms, and risks to Canadians," he said in June.

Oh you mean like alcohol? What about opioids and other deadly prescription drugs? You ever seen alcohol bottles have those child proof lids? Alcohol poisoning leads to death and pretty fucking quickly... Cannabis on the other hand? GTFO!

The chiefs also said it would be difficult to keep children and youth away from cannabis and that home grow-ops in general come with the risk of causing electrical problems and fire hazards that would put first responders at risk.

You ever seen what's in most house cleaning supplies? Shit I recently saw a commercial for children top chef, they pretty much had little kids flambéing shit on a gas cook tops, GTFO!!! Okay I'm exaggerating a bit but these kids were cooking in a kitchen with sharp knives, fire danger from the oven/cook top, etc... What about power tools... Shit you can have a gun legally in your house also but why are they demonizing cannabis home gardens and making it sound like fucking meth labs? Please break it down police chiefs... I see a double standard here.

And for shits and grins... and for extra $$$ on police budget:

The association said that without a science-based measure of impairment, it "strongly recommends" that the government increase investment in "drug recognition experts" and officer training to help detect and stop impaired drivers.

"Drug Recognition experts" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Please elaborate on that...

NOOOOOO!!!!!
maybe for my veg room where I cannot deal with the heat anyway.....

I thought the fire chief at allard admitted they did not find any real higher fire risks.
If they want to reduce fire hazards, ban stoves, ovens, and welders. And fire pits. and barbecues. and smoking indoors.
Unfortunately, you cannot ban stupidity, which is the real cause of most fires.

Yup even despite the lack of evidence for the fire hazard argument at the Allard trial, they still play the same cards. Because thats all they have. Nothing to stand on with this continuously crying wolf shit about hazards. If they were ACTUALLY worried about fires theyd go around checking ppls dryers. More fires have been started by dryers in this country than grow ops. FACT. And I mean the legal grows. Not that janky shit
