home made metal halide bulb?

anyone seen it done before? seems like it would be pretty easy... you just got the spacing right for the arc but you got to know the right chemical amounts the use and how it holds...

you don't need a glass bulb or vaccum..that's just to block the uv-c...
is that little white thing with the chemicals in it? anyone know what it's made out of lol...

edit: the little white thing is called the arc tube and is made of quartz...don't think i could make one of those lol...

my bad i think they aren't allowed to manufacuter them anymore or import them...i guess they can sell old stock. the ones I bought look at least 20 years old by the type of packaging lol...

Just buy the bulb damn, it’s like $20. Gonna spend way more on material and equipment trying to make one.
