Hoping to grow...

I really want to grow, but I have some time constraints, I'll have about 4-4.5 months for germinate/veg/flower/dry/cure.

Also, do you guys think I can be away from my plant for about a week, meaning no water, without causing major problems?

And any strain recommendations? I was hoping to try a more sativa dominant strain. I was thinking about Sagarmatha's Western Winds...

Thanks.

Being away is a problem mostly because of bugs and disease and maybe even fire. You could use UDWC and put in a float valve so they wont run out of water. You would be wise to fill a 55 gallon bucket with water (depending on how many plants you want to grow) and ph it and feed it to the float valve to maintain some level of PH control for being gone an entire week. Timers on the lights will be fine. Do yourself a favor and put some heat protection in place in case the room gets too hot it will shout off the lights. Make sure that your AC will turn on and keep the last setting in the event of a black out or brown out. Be aware that the leaves are going to want to reach the light and if they do they can start a fire. You can put a fence (chicken wire or whatever) between the lights and plants so they wont reach the light when you are gone. You will want to be able to adjust this fencing's height and or position when you return. Make sure to seal the room from bugs. If you get bugs and you are not there then you have wasted a bunch of time. Clean your room and don't wear your shoes inside. Be aware that bugs will get transferred to your clothes from grass and weeds outside. Don't bring them into your room. As for strain there are indicas which stay shorter and grow significantly faster than sativas usually and sativas stretch a lot. I would suggest an indica for safety and convenience.
