how big of a reservoir for 2x2 flood tray?

Hey There,

I already have a 10gallon res, and was wondering if a 20gallon is necessary for a 2x2 tray.

not sure about how much volume of water it would take to fill a 2x2 tray but
a rule of thumb for me is 3x the the volume it take to flood it.

My veg table is 2x3 and and I have a 15 gallon reservoir but only fill it up with 10 to 12 gallons so I think you will be good

just depends on if you are looking to flood tray to the top i myself have a 2x2 for veg and i use little rockwools 3x3x3 just sitting in the tray. my tray came with a 20 gal res but i put 10 gal's in it and im good to go.

keep in mind its eazyer to stablize Ph in a larger res, and you can get longer between res changes
and its easyer to keep a larger volume of water cooler if you dont have a chiller. these reasons are why
I go three times the volume it takes to flood.
