How can I speed up harvest: Trimming

I've wet trimmed, I've dry trimmed...if you have 10 plants...trimming is a bitch!

I've only done 2 cycles of 10 plants, so I'm inexperienced...but pretty successful.

Other than hiring help, how can I make trimming quick and efficient.

Honestly, after trimming a few dry oz, I threw the rest of the lb or so into jars poorly or un trimmed. It smokes and tastes fine...but I want to move to where I can produce perfect trimmed medical marijuana efficiently. So far, I don't know how to do that. Its sticky, its hot, its dirty, its meticulous, it makes you go out of your mind. Its the hardest work I've ever done. There has to be a better way!

What kind of trimmers? They have electric ones that are much faster. Honestly practice makes perfect. In the beginning it took me for freaking ever. Now its a cake walk. I usually plan it out for a light work day or a day off and get tons of sleep, wake up at 1pm and tackle it after breakfast. Also my manicuring skills are pretty much second nature at this point, I dont have to think much while doing it anymore, so I usually have the tv on or a movie going while working, makes it go by faster.

I'm using some precision blade cutters I bought at the grow store. The are sharp and light on the hands. I cannot afford to fuk up another crop because I'm lazy. Luckily ugly weed is still as potent as pretty weed for personal use...but I want to sell it to med patients and dispensaries, and so far I do not do this job efficiently enough to make money at it. Everyone always bitches about how expensive good weed is...but if they realize the effort time expense and skill necessary to do this, they would totally appreciate the cost. Like I said I manicured a QP or better each time and the results are fabulous...but I want to turn that QP into a P with as little effort as possible.

What you really need is experience that developes the skill required for the particular strain your working with. If your really unhappy with the amount of trimming required you should check into strains with more of a solid bud and less leaf. Every strain is different. Whether a bud is solid or loose and leafy is also somewhat dependent upon your growing practices. Producing good high quality medicine is neither quick nor easy.

Holy cow...that was an awesome video...even if it wasn't perfect, it would be better than me getting frustrated and losing 3/4 lb to ugliness...I liked how he said it does a good job with the small stuff...big buds are easy...its picking through the shite that makes it tedius.

To an above poster, I had nice big colas but also a range of little to big. They weren't necessarily fluffy or leafy--especially in grow two where I had a uniform strain and a little more experience. Regardless...going through and personally checking hundreds of nugs takes time. I was a project manager...I made big decisions...I could never be bothered with tedium like useless paperwork...thank god I had assistants. I think I need to match my personality with someone who likes to meticulously root through shite.

I'm getting something like the thing in this video..that's so cool.

I would love an automatic trimmer but people who have tried them say they mangle the bud, break trichomes, and miss a lot of leaf. If I am lucky enough to really get overwhelmed, however, I may just have to resort to one of these :)
