How do i start growing

im about to go get a hydroponic system and HID kit cuz a nigga came up...i got some seeds and ima germinate them and put them in rock wool, but my question is is can i put the baby plant under HID lights right off the back, or wat wat...and how do i know wat n how much fertilizer to use, is there instructions somewhere

Read the FAQ's!! Put them under the HID after they sprout but keep it 4-5 ft above at first with no nutes until they are 3-4 weeks old then start nutes but go about 1/4 strength than what it says on the bottle. Once they start getting bigger 2-3 levels of leaves lower the light but with HID's they put out alot of heat, put your hand over the plant and if its too hot for your hand it too hot for the plant. After time start uping your nutes. Best thing to do is get a PH/PPM meter.

Try putting them in the sun at first. The lights will make them weak and spindly. you want them to start strong. A short thick stem is the best for the plant later. They just want water and light right now. Then put them under the lights. No fertilizer yet. You don't need that for about a month or so until the roots get established. Since the days are getting shorter right now, then use the sun and lights together to increase the light hours. Then when they get where you want them put them under the lights full time.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest to you that you definitely do not start growing with hydro. I know, I know, everyone says that its the best. And I didn't forget how many hit singles Snoop Dogg had all about the 'hydro indo'. Personally, I'm a very smart person and love science etc etc etc. Basically, I'm a Alpha-Geek. I hated hydro. If you want to spend bunches of money on equipment and you have the patience and time to constantly fiddle with your resevoir PH -- then by all means, grow hydro. There are many successful commercial growers that use hydroponics for marijuana, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli etc etc etc. BUT -- as a first time grower, you're trying to learn about the plant, its life cycle, and growing in general. Do you really want the extra overhead of having to learn about basic chemistry as well? Think about it before making that leap ....
