how do I take pics like these? (trichome close ups)

I want to be able to take pics like these. How do you do it for as cheap as possible? I realize the pic below was probably taken with a $1000 camera or lens or something but how can a guy take pics of trichomes without spending hundreds of dollars on equipment?

well I found the expensive way.. macroscopic lenses.. still cant find a cheap way thats any good..

serious? does that actually work well? seems too simple... and a magnifying glass is average 2x-3x maybe 10x as far as I know. Im looking for at least 50x magnification

it works... i havent done it but Ive seen alot of others do it and it works just fine.. They also have lil microscopes that will work..

Supposedly you can take a jewelers loup and just use the macro setting on your camera to get a nice up close trich shot- then they also have these digital microscopes that take those kinds of pics too. I would think you need one of those though- it doesn't seem like you could get a quality pic using a loup or a magnifying glass- but I can't say for sure since I haven't tried it though.

I thought it was cool to take a pic. I like them beter then a mag glass. But for me I can't stop the flash so it messes with the color. macro zoom on the camra never played with it.

The camera / magnifying glass method does work. I tried it with a 30x mag and my cell phone camera. I was able to zoom in pretty good on the trichs...some of the more professional pics have probably been taken by some expensive equipment.
