I'm a first timer using cfl also ... yours are looking good. Can't comment on how much you'll get out of it. I'm still harvesting a similar size plant also .. I've learned a little bit through trial and error though ... You should definitley trim the top leaves of you're plants to keep em shorter .. I have two girls in my space around your size (i let them veg too long) but i have 4 more that are about a foot tall and the light is distributed nice and even. plus, they're easy to maintain. i really love the pics with the leaf burn!!!!! another problem when you grow them too big. with cfls I have them all over different leaves also Looking good for first time man .. looks alot like mine!

I can see you've overfertilized them a bit. Those heavy indicas like a higher ppm which is why they don't look as bad. However sativas like it lighter which is why you have save definite curling down. You also don't have a good distribution. If I were you I would have LST all the plants to go flat across. Then drop all the cfls right over the canopy. CFLs don't produce enough light to penetrate deep., 6 inches for the small 23 watters and such. You should also trim the lower 1/3 of the plant because it simply doesn't get enough light and is using energy that should be directed elsewhere. Perhaps next time you should also grow strains with the same genetics so you don't have to struggle as much with a long stretching sativa and lst quite a bit.

Is that what you were lookin to hear when you posted ;o ?

The curling of the leaves is from overfertilization. If you have severe curling and no burn than it isn't overfert the plant isn't receiving the proper ratios of nutes.

Yes I have used CFL's and HID's.

YEP!!!! that's exactly what's happening.. no burn but curling all over the place ... i've been following FF soil schedule but i think i may have over fert at some point. I'm guessing it threw something off.. anyway
to fix it?

Well usually overfertilization will show nute burn but on some mainly sativas the leaves will simply curl. If your leaves are now a healthy green and there is no INCREASE in curling then the problem is already solved. Curling like burn is not reversible.

Just go easy on the fertilizer and keep all you variables in safe zones.

Here is an example...notice no burn but just yellow tips and the slight curl. Oh and what a surprise a sativa phenotype...

Long internodes with some stretch...sounds right on target for a cfl grow haha. Keep on growing and learning!
GrowingfortheGold, cfl does not mean what you think it means.

Day 50 from seed.
See any stretching here?
Any long internodes?
I didn't think so.

CFLs are great. I use them for the entire veg period and switch to a 400w HPS for 12/12.

CFL placement is the key. Work on that for next time and you wont get ANY stretching.

Good effort!
