Looks butterish. Nice color. If it is sizzling/crackling on the nail it isn't fully purged. Ya if you keep going it will wax up but depends on temp too. I would purge at 100-110 for bit longer. Then turn it up to 120 to see if it will wax if that's what you're after.

I actually use heat to speed up vapor. Then take away from when little liquid is left...scrape together an whip a little ....next day u will have honeycomb

Budder not honeycomb. Yes, you need heat to get true honeycomb

Lol. What temp is the butane and what temp is room? Sounds like heat to me... how come i get honeycomb just like vaccd? I must have some new breed.. its oil in honeycomb shapes...what do we call this?... cant call it honeycomb...lol...people like u r the ones that think theirs is always better and always catch a fish 8" bigger than it really was

When you see them side by side you would see the difference. Budder is more moist, not completely dehydrated, and like you said; whipped into a mass then let sit..

There's no bigger dick competition here. Just information. When you make and handle the two properly you will tell the difference. No one said anything about who's is better. Enjoy your trolling bud.

ughhmmm bc. iveeeee happened to make honeycomb just like nickel says..

i did notice the honeycomb with out vac was more crumble like compared to vac though..

the honeycombs were actual honeycombs though.. just like hard sand though.. weird ...

some heated vac, folded into ball (my version of whip) lets sit in warm spot over night, or two, and had some combs..

i like my vac combs though :]

I'm not sure what you are saying? You are saying you made honeycomb without heat but then you say "some heated vac, folded into ball(my version of whip) lets sit in warm spot over night, or two, and had some combs.."

I have made a lot of "budder" without heat and with slight heat, and some with less vac etc...but these all come out to a kind of "formed crumble" Not a honeycomb per-say where the honeycomb is naturally made as it is being heated and vac'd.

But we are just playing with names now cause I've seen a lot of things in dispensaries labeled all kinds of different ways ie. budder, wax, moon rock, honeycomb etc..

As long as it gets us baked and it's purged well who really cares anyway. Extracts are awesome in all shapes and sizes

Makin some shatter this weekend!! :weed:

BC, I gots a question for ya brotha....

I've read you like the larger ID tubes.. .

Welp, I've happen to come upon a tube free of charge, I believe she holds 60ish grams with an ID 1.75 in.

I've had it for awhile now, and have hesitated to use it because, I feel it's too fat.....

What's your experience with the larger IDs?..Have you used a 1.75 er?

Should I do it?...lol

I been looking for someone to push me to make some friggen oil...lol

The point in which butane evaporates is different than a mass of oil containing butane, it is the mass that need to loosen up with heat to allow the butane to escape its viscosity! You are thinking straight butane buddy! What about the oil itself? Am I reading you wrong?

Hey Sirdab!

Ya man I love my large ID tubes! My tubes are 3" ID and 14" long and hold around 300 grams of fine ground material. And I have a small 1" ID tube that's about 10" long and I have done side by side comparisons with them with the exact same product and have found no difference at all in the finished product. Both produce nice blonde material when starting with good product.

I also read others stating that large ID tubes don't yield as well as small ID tubes. Well I have yielded as much as 25% back when processing nice bud and I average 22-23% now with my tek and popcorn bud so I am super happy with that. I haven't out yielded my large ID tube with my small ID tube yet.

I don't know if it has something to do with how the glass blower makes these tubes which makes them very efficient and high yielding but it just may. The way the top end of the tube is made is different from other glass blown tubes I have seen. It is kind of made like a 3 tier funnel at the top which quickly spreads the butane down very evenly through the tube.

Fadedawg had commented that his opinion on large ID tubes was that they weren't as efficient in extraction as small id tubes because the butane didn't saturate all the product completely. So I did a test to see about that with my tubes and it wasn't the case with my large id tubes.
I took pictures of the product after running the material and I posted it on a thread I made comparing the fine grind to course broken up material.
After running the material with a ratio of 1 can of butane per oz of material I spread out all of the run material on a table to see if it was completely saturated and had all the resin heads removed. And it all was. It was all completely saturated and the material was completely void of resin heads that we could find with a powerful usb microscope. I scanned the material for a long time.
I compared it to the small 1" ID tube and it was a mirror image. No noted difference at all.

I have to be very thorough in finding the most efficient ways to do my extractions because I run so much material. Over the year it would cost me a lot of $ and time if I wasn't doing things the most efficient and economical way possible. I'm looking into a recirculating system for the near future.

So believe me when I tell you man if I found small id tubes to be more efficient and produced a better product I would be using them but that just isn't the case in any of the controlled tests I've done. But again I gotta reiterate that it may well have to do with how these tubes are hand blown and designed with the 3 tiered top neck portion of them.

I could empathize with this "fade dawg" because My initial thought was the pressure canal from a smaller Diameter is what would be best. Personally I was worried the saturation from a larger tube would not have enough force to fully detach the trich heads of the product, unless it was lightly packed! I did wonder if less plant matter would be leached into the final product from a slower flow rate? Anyway just my opinion! I decided on 1 1/2 I'd for my first tubes! Now I may look for a 3in banger to run comparisons! I have a helper and a vac-purge option now so I will also be doing more controlled testing and videos with my products! Maybe his as well!

Hey Chewberto yes I agree that's what I would assume before doing testing also that larger tubes would have less pressure but that isn't the case at all. I use 8 layers of coffee filters on my large tube and it produces a shit load of pressure. When I take the tane can nozzle out of the tube to insert a fresh one a burst of pressure comes out the top hole. I put my finger over it until the new tube nozzle is put into it cause sometimes a little bit of ground material will shoot up out of it. Controlled tests are the most eye opening and information gathering things we can do. It's great to learn from others but in my opinion that's just a starting point and we should all do our own tests to see how we can improve or expand on ours and others tek.

Here's a link to a comparison I did of the different ground buds: https://www.rollitup.org/concentrates-extracts/747558-bho-yield-comparison-fine-ground.html

You can see how large my tube is and how nice the product is that came out of it in that thread as well as you can see some of my after extraction pics of the spent product and close up usb microscope pics of the material after running it.

I started with one of the large tubes and now I have 4 of them. If I found the smaller ID ones to be more productive and gave me a better end product I would be spending my money on smaller ID ones but that just isn't the case I find in any of my controlled tests I have done.
