How expensive to run theses lights?

I have a 400 watt hps and just finished my first grow. I decided to buy another light to supplement my second grow but when I went to buy it the 1000 watt was cheaper then the 400 and 600 watt so obviously I went for that. However I have a feeling it would be too expensive to run 24 hours a day.

Would it harms the plants to run the 400 watt on an 18/6 light cycle and turn on the 1000 watt for a few hours a day or vice versa? Thanks

nope, shouldnt be bad. However the 1000w will probably be sufficient on its own. Running 18/6... but it gets real hot.

why not use the 400 for vegging and the 1000w for flower....

Do you think the 400 watt would be sufficient for 10 plants in veg?

Depends on what size plants you plan on having.. But you could squeeze 10 under, just veg less..

Thats the same question I was wondering too. 10 plants should be fine under 400 watt mh compared using floros. If you look at the lumens their getting. They'll grow nice, just keep lights close as possible. Mine are 3 weeks I just put them in veg. I used 400 watt mh for 7 plants and they came out really good.
