How far ahead do you plan your grows?

Just curious. I have just bought a batch of seeds that I won't germinate until spring 2022. With the supply and demand problems that we have been having in the UK I thought it was best if I got ahead of the game in case there are any supply issues.

If I don't have seeds........I order them several months before I start my grow.
I have everything else, or can get it within days.

I tend to plan as I go, but I stay having plants. My flower tent might be empty for a day or two while I clean up after harvest but once it is I just pull whatever’s ready in the veg tent and get some new seeds going.

I've been pheno hunting for a year and have two or three seed runs left. I cannot wait to be caught up and running clones.

I only grow for personal use, and I have plenty of seeds, so I just try to time it so that I get a new harvest when my jars start to run out. I already have the equipment and nutrients to last me years. The tent I flower in is a 3x3 (sometimes 2x2 if I'm testing something new) so I typically end up doing two grows per year.

I run with whatever wild hair I get. I've changed the roster of what I'm starting this next round 5 or 6 times already, and it changed again once I got home today. I need to make a final selection and get them started.

I've been buying and collecting seeds since I was 18. It's almost another hobby of mine I'd say. Know a few guys like me too and we all tell each other what we are buying or cracking and do little trades and whatnot clones or seeds. Then I'll cull one of mine if I get something I like more and try to run phenos I know I like to smoke. Plus there's other guys doing the same so can sample all their strains and get cuts. Saves alot of pheno hunting time and space that way. Sometimes you end up with a bunch of weed you don't particularly like growing from seed. I'm picky. Sometimes I'll have next year's runs planned already but plans change quickly when there's new seeds in the mix. Lol

Lol nah. '99-'00 I was pretty involved with pot politics back in the day. Ordered mostly from my buddy who owned (owns) a distribution company here in Canada and had access to alot of breeders genetics through him, or from expos and events (anyone remember willyjack seeds? Used to buy them right from Rob) Trust me, I was always expecting the letter in the mail instead of my package 'your pkg has been confiscated' but it never happened to me. Knock on wood.

I do not really plan...I am good as long as I can keep 4-5 different strains to choose from for personal use and to share with friends and family.
Exactly. I don’t dislike the hype or whatever, but man I don’t have time or effort for all that. Real life, family, work, takes the forefront, and the grow is secondary. As you said, long as I have 3 or 4 different kinds to share with my dad every few months…. Happy as a mofo.
