How far away do you hang lights

I was wanting to know how far I hang t5 lights for a clonebox, 400w hps for a mothers grow tent and 1000w between two grow trays. I have spent a long time finding this information.

T5 almost touching. The other 2 by heat. Mother doesn’t need a lot of light. But too far away and she’ll stretch. The 1000? As close as possible without burning.
