How far away from ceiling do I need to keep lights

The rule I would use when I was using HID's is; put your hand on your plant canopy back side up. Leave it there for one full minute. If the back of your had becomes unfortable, then raise the light. Keep doing this until your hand remains comfortable, and then add three inches to that distance. Keep that distance for 'your light in your grow space', as your plants grow. It worked well for me...Brussels

LOL... burn this mother down...lol

Good question...
Sometimes my girls do get pretty big and tall during flowering - but I have high ceilings and don't really have to worry about it...

I'd imagine that you should try to keep them atleast a foot or 2 from the ceiling though - and have a fan blowing on it too!
