How far away with an LEC?

18 at the closest, 24 inches max. Three feet is too far away you will get unnecessary internodal spacing and stretch.

@GroErr can give you some solid advice on these Lecs, practically has nailed them down.................3ft is way to far OP
Okay...I thought since they were so young and they are short autoflower genetics (2 feet) that 3 feet was good. I didn't want to harm the newborns.

20-24"

If height is an issue, I've had a couple finish around 16-18 inches fine, but temps were a bit warm.

I have it like 3 feet away at the start of flower, it stretches into it.

By the way, I love how last year it would have been just people responding to this like "what's lec? pffft cmh is a joke!" and now everybody who responded knows exactly what's up (many I haven't seen yet, I've been trying to keep track of who on RIU is using these beasts, nice to see we're slowly taking over!)

If op is discussing seedlings I haven't run any in veg but I'd be starting around 3ft until they get established and keep a close eye on them. For flowering I keep them at 20-24", anything below 20" I've seen bleaching. I know I've burnt/dried the shit out of a couple of 12/12 from seed cups I've thrown in the flower room when they were at ~24".

I learned about this light from my local hydroponic supply store. He claimed it kicks butt over LED and others. I will soon see. It's not as hot as HPS but hotter than my Mars Hydro 900 LED. It really kicks the heat downward which I don't care for but at a little over 300w it is bright as hell and the spectrum chart looks good on the stock 3100K bulb. My Kill-A-Watt meter might be off but it shows a 366w draw at the wall. I'm looking forward to this grow! :-)

Actually your meter is right on, that's the full draw including the ballast.

18" from the start
6 different strains, all good compact growth, decent node spacing on most..
@genuity are you doing anything special to remove the heat from the canopy or do you have a high ceiling to dissipate the heat better? At 18" I can't keep the canopy cool and get bleaching with almost any strain I ran at that height and just blowing a fan across it. My6eiling is only 7'H and the room is typically running 2x LEC's with a fan blowing across the canopy.

Nothing really,it is an open space, canopy Temps are at 80,rh%60.

In flower,at 18",I definitely get light burn/bleaching
