How long can thrips survive in a room with no plant?

I want to start growing in winter, but I had some thrips problem this summer. There is no plant in that room right now.

Are there any thrips on houseplants in your home etc. ? It's easy for a clean room to become re-infested.

That's good.

Sometimes, it's hard to ascertain for sure where pests in the grow room come from, Infected clones are an obvious source, but houseplants and outside gardens or plants can hold bugs that will hitchhike in on your clothing or a pet etc. Serious growers often establish protocols that hold this in check. They sanitize EVERYTHING that goes into their grow and don't wear outdoor clothing in their grow etc. or risk allowing people in for show n tell.

Thrips are no fun, but easier to control than mites or aphids. Might be a good idea to spend $15 and keep a bottle of concentrated neem around just in case. Good luck this winter.
