How long does Guano Tea Last after being brewed??? i read places it needs to be used immediately after the brewing period, and i read places that it could be kept as long as its being aerated by a pump... any input???

haven't used it in a while but i used to keep it in a res with a big air stone for around a week or so and never seemed to have problems. i always had to make big batches and couldn't possibly use it all up right after brewing and i never wanted to waste it hence the res and air stone. i thought it was kind of a pain in the ass so i stopped using it :eyesmoke:

So if i were to make a 5-10 gallon batch in a trash bin outside with a 10-15g aquarium pump, i know im gonna have left overs cuz i only have 5 small/med plants in veg state, how long would it last?

I make all my own compost, as well as manure teas and compost tea. Why would you want to save any? Make only what you need. I use a 5 gallon buchet, which yields me just enough for 1 application, then, 2 weeks later, do it again. Once you have the setup, it only takes a couple of minutes, and fresh tea, seems better, to me. Sure, you can keep it going up to a week, but you really don't need to apply it every week. The microbes in the tea, die soon after the air is removed, and after a week or so, they start to die, anyway. The nutes in the tea, may not be affected, but the microbes are the paramount benefit of the tea. Good Luck.

well i only have 5 plants 2med 1 small and 2 clones, so when i make it i dont think they can take 5 gallons of tea, I was talking to the guy at this great hydro store in my area, he makes tea and sells it, he says i can have the tea as long as the pump stays on constantly and they need to eat they live off of the carbohydrates in the molasses so 1-2 tablespoons a week, and today i bought a batch of their tea to try before i make my own, and it seems really watered down lol, do you strain your tea before using it? cuz this one is obviously strained. thanks for the reply
