How many years do you think it will be until marijuana gets legalized in the US?

Sadly, I don't see it being legalized or decriminalized on a federal level for quite some time, unless we get some lobbyists in DC pushing for legalization.

California is going to be the place to be as far as any marijuana revolution goes, in my opinion.

Not anytime soon. Almost 8 billion dollars a year are spent on enforcing cannabis laws here in the U.S. At $100,000 a year that translates to 80,000 jobs. Look at all the overtime cops are paid. Where else can a 20 year old kid with mental health problems get a gun, badge and a $100,000 a year paycheck? (Base pay of $58,000 plus another $40,000 in overtime.) Just image how much the more senior cops are taking home with all the overtime they create for themselves, $130,000 easily. Your tax dollars hard at work.

Let there be no mistake. Cops see cannabis law and enforcement of that law as a gold mine. I would guess that the average cop makes around $5,000 a year from cannabis enforcement alone. That $5,000 dollar number translates to $96 dollars or about 3.5 hours of work per week; very realistic and in some cases greatly understated.

The more time a cop can spend in court discussing his great bust the more overtime he can take home. And trust me, he is laughing all the way to the bank with our tax dollars.

Passive aggressive behavior at its greatest.

Think of it like this, everything in this world must balance. What is the other side of the equation that allows a 20 year old kid with no true skill set to take home $100,000 a year?

Answer: Look at all the "evil marijuana people" in prison. The Vietnam Vet who served 5 years in prison because he suffered from PTSD and cannabis was the only thing that got the war out of his head. And for the rest of his life this war hero must go through life with a Scarlet Letter; a criminal record.

I know you are as proud of your country as I am right now. Everyone! Stand up and join me in song...

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My sweet fucking cell.
