Yup, thats I what I was thinking. For even less money you can have better light with same heat. 20 cfl's would be a lot of cash. I have a 2'x2'x8' closet with a 400w mh and the temp is fine.

I think HID lighting is the way to go. Granted the heat is more concentrated on one spot but the overall heat production will be less. It is also more efficient and will save you a lot in the long run due to the higher lumen/watt output. For veg I'd think a 250w Metal Halide system would suit your purposes perfectly. If you're desperate to stick to CFL my estimate would be 9*45w bulbs, the lumen output will be fairly similar.

3 105 watt bulbs equal sunshine or daylight for two sq feet. This according to Roseman whom I trust completely. Disagree? Look at his profile and buds produced with cfls.

Hell ya bro thanks for the info, the reason i just dont buy a 250 watt lighting system is because i can get hooked up with free cfls lol. Dont want to waste money unless i have too
