Hey Klawski, I am currently undergoing my first grow and I use CFL's, I learned the hard way what happens when heat builds up on the plant when the lights are too close (also the fan I was using did not do a very good job) my plants got burned in several areas and it gave me quite a scare. I have since been vary wary of the lights proximity to my plants, and making sure that the fan I am using to sweep away all the hot air is doing it's job. There is always the "hand test" where if you have your hand under your light and it's hot/burning, you shouldn't have your plant at that distance either.
If your not worried about burning and just about light efficiency I would recommend maybe moving your lights down an inch or two and waiting a day to see that all goes well, and if it seems like the plants like it, keep it there, if not, you can always move your light right? I am no experienced grower, but your plants look very healthy, the leaves are not droopy or discolored, so that means if your using nutes that you have a good routine going, and your watering at the correct times as well. I noticed that you have what seems to be string tied to one of your plants, is that to keep it up straight? If that is the case, your plant is stretching towards the light and the lights need to be a bit closer. Sorry I am just a novice and I don't mean to make ya feel stupid if i just told you things you already know, I was/am just trying to be helpful with some suggestions. Best of luck! and good luck on your grow man!
