How many plants can a 18yr old grow on a red card?

So I am trying to help my nephew out and find out how many plants he can legally grow. I searched this site as well as the Colorado MMJ site but was not able to find anything in writing stating how many plants. I've been seeing 6 with only half of those in flower. Can anyone point me to the laws and what section of those laws that draw out said laws?

21 is age to get a card without parental consent. 18 with consent.

Federal government says 0.. State says 6... A doctor recommendation for increase plant count ( over six) gives the patient an affirmative action to prove the excess plant count is needed by that individual in court!

Just know 3 in flower 3 in vegg , youre not allowed to have more than 3 in flower
