How many watts??

Hi,




Probably a dumb question, but how do I go about figuring out how many watts my T5 fluorescent light is? It's a 4 foot, 6 bulb fixture. Do I simply take the wattage of the bulbs, 54W, and multiply that by 6? Is it that simple?

yes.i have the four foot 8 bulb t5 by hydro farm its about 432 watts

I was thinking of switching my T5s out for Metal Halide, as I hear Halide is better at penetrating light. I've got 2 6 bulb T5 fixtures and 2 4 bulb T5 fixtures, for a total of 20 bulbs. Hmmm.

Then again, that is over 1,000 watts....
