How much did you drop on your growroom?

How much did you spend on your very first official growroom, and what did you buy that is still sitting in a box in the closet?

I started my first indoor grow in FEB 2011. Spent $1200 initially on all the the grow equipment. I ended up spending another few hundred on miscellaneous supplies like tools, wood, nails, screws, glue, plastic sheeting, PVC and all the hardware, and of course, seeds.
Ended up spending $60 on an air pump that never get used cause I though I was gonna grow DWC but never did.I also ended growing bare-bulb vert, so I bought an air cooled hood that I ended up not needing.
Good thread idea.

Like $500-600. I grow bare bulb vert as well it seemed cheaper to me than horizontal. So the money I would of used on a air cooled hood, I used to buy another 600w light! :clap:

These things can add up really fast..I have a sealed room.. I have to say I am round 16k right now and it isn't even all that big....

Its turning out pretty well. Im at day 44 of flower. It is my first grow so im trying to get over the learning curve.

I'm in for about 500 dollars, have a 6' x 7' flower room with a 400w hps and 385 actual wattage in CFL's(so far ;) ), and a 4' wide x 2.5' deep x 4' tall veg tent(homemade with PVC and 8 mil black plastic sheeting) with another 300 or so actual wattage CFL's.

And everything I bought and put in the closet because I didn't think I needed it, well, I ended up needing all of it and then some...DWC rocks, BTW...I'm growing in both soil and DWC, and have done both in the past as well, and I love it for the explosive plant growth.

400 bucks 1000 watter got it on sale at a local hydro store ($250 buck!), fox farm soils and fert!. already had an ultrasonic humidifier and a fan

About $600 into my 3x3' tent, I still have a light hanger new in the box that was too weak to hold up my light.

damn. I consider myself small time and i spent $4,000+. I live in cali though so.... When people around me have warehouses, anything i could possibly do would be small lol

close to $15,500 when i was still doing liquid lumens.
$3200 when i did a S.O.G set up like AL B Fuct's
And about $5600 on the vertical set up i got atm.
Broke even on all of them but sure was a lot of god dam work.

I spent $6,000 on lights, ballasts, Reflectors, ALL Accesories - Mylar, vents, ducting etc..., Co2 Generator, Nutrients and some seeds.....

I spent $2,000 on Air Conditioning and Heat

Then another $1,000 on an Alarm System for my house...

The only things Im not using is my Smart Pots (those cloth pots)..... I HATE THEM..... @ $80 wasted..... Thats it... This is because I did my homework and planned for almost a year before I started.....

Thru the first 3 or 4 grow, I was learning just what I didn't need, and what didn't really work out, so I spent a lot that I chalk up to tuition. I probably had about $3K in the first 3 rooms, and by the time I set up the fourth at my commercial location, I had a good idea what was gonna happen. I had 8 1K HPS ballasts & lights, and 6 1K MH ballasts & lights (Not all in use, just got agreat deal on them, so I got them) 4 400w MH and 4 400w HPS ballasts and lights (again, a great deal), 8 sun systems hoods, a 12,000 BTU Danby AC unit, 2 dehumidifiers, various fans, carbon filters, flood tables, propagation supplies, 4' T-5 fixtures, etc, etc. All told about another $6K. Then the cops took it all.
I'll probably have around $8K in the next one. Maybe even more if I do the remote video, and the security system I had planned before the bust.

$60 in soil, pots, fert,
$70 ph meter
im ganna be spending some more on wood, fans, and mh hps lighting for my custom cabinet
This stuff can be expensive and im trying to stay on a budget

I hear you man. I couldn't believe how much things added up, plus all the little gadgets and gizmos for every aspect of the grow-room they. I could easily see spending that on a good grow room.

Yeah $4000 is small time in Cali, but I believe you get what you pay for. My grow is still a little ghetto, but the important aspects are higher quality.

Breaking even isn't the worst thing in the world ey? Sucks the way it ended though. I heard you had some kind of drama with your partners right?

Yes on just one the liquid lumens one. Is were all the drama happened
Broke off from that and ran the other ones by my self. Broke even then some on those.
You know what they say if you wanna get it done right do the dam thing your self ;)

So far $8000 on 2x (8x4) flower rooms with 2x600hps closed hoods per room perpetual, a 8x4 veg/mother room with 550WLED and 2x400W flouro 4x2 veg lights. I started with aero tables throughout, then went to flood&drain and now organic soil in pots.

My problem is I keep chasing yields instead of appreciating what I have. Hence my change to organics.

i hate to burst your bubble but i find organics to be a better overall product but it lacks in the yield dept. hydro and chem for the win.
