How much electricty to blow an outlet plug"

Just wondering, I have a multi-plug plugged in and into that, 3 150 watt CFL's and 2 75 watts. Just wonder how much it takes to blow it.

Depends on what you are talking about, if you have a multi strip with a built in breaker, I think they are usually around 5 amps. Most circuits in homes are 15 amps in the breaker box, some newer homes run 20 amp circuits. The outlets themselves are all at least rated for the circuit they are supporting, you will need at least 15 amps to melt an outlet but wuold probably take more due to saftey ratings.

Look in your breaker box and see what the breaker is rated at, the breaker will pop way before you melt anything with too much current, unless it is wired incorrectly.

i think on a typical 15amp circuit you'd need roughly about 1800W to blow the breaker but its recommended that you go nowhere near this number as it still can be somewhat dangerous. i think its recommended to stay at about %80 of the max load so around 1600W or less. these are rough numbers so dont take them as gospel. consult an electrician or someone more knowledgeable than myself

When using extensions ALWAYS get good quality... not the cheap Chinese made knock offs ...
AC extensions are good as they're made for higher amperage.. overheating is usually a problem with multiple cords of different ratings....
