Ive read that UV rays can increase resin production, How much UV light in watts do you think a marijuana plant can use? How much is actually needed? Whats the minimum in watts do i need for UV light? im in a 3x3 tent

I am using the HLG UV bar which is 30 watts and it stays on 12/12. Buds frosting up nicely. This is a small bud with nice trichomes.

this is what you want. UVB and UVA. How much you need depends on some factors. there are 6%, 12% and 14% UVB. 24w (2 feet), 39w (3 feet), and 46w (4 feet)

I run 78w (2x3ft bulbs) over a 4x4 of the 12% for 2 hours per day.
If you run more power or stronger bulbs you need less.

I put a 24” 20watt SolarCure setup in my 3x3. Only finished two plants with it so I’m still experimenting. All my research showed SolarCure to be the best bulb around.
I am running mine 24-32” above did 8x 6min cycles in the middle of lights on.
I will try to up it this next grow.

keep in mind the solar cure in stronger UV. Leaving it on 12hrs will kill your plants

The truth is, no one actually knows. I've read every UV thread and everyone says or does something different. Different bulbs, different watts, different lengths of time on, etc. Best thing to do is find someone here who knows what they are doing and just copy them, then go from there with your own observations and results.

Depends on which nm. 280 needs less than a w per m.

Between 360 and 420 maybe a few percent of OUTPUT; need to check what efficiency your diodes run.
