How should I go about getting into the marijuana business in California?

I plan on moving somewhere near Los Angeles in 4 years and I want to open a dispensery but I have been reading up on it and it just doesn't seem worth it. California is the only place I want to go so what would you guys suggest I do? Should I open one up or what?

There's a vote coming up on dispensaries so we'll see what they decide to do. People are just opening dispensaries left and right, "going rogue", so to speak. Not sure how this is gonna turn out but if they decide to close a bunch the Los Angeles county is gonna have a bunch if law suits which they can't afford because they are broke. Should be interesting to say the least.

At this point, if you want to grow weed I Cali; you'd better be the shit of the shit, or you have to know someone. If you can grow good weed and have a gift for making the right friends, you can make at least a living off of it. Weed is one of those "It's who you know" kind of businesses.

you dont, moving to a different state for weed is the dumbest idea ever. more so im cali because it is floodedto the hilt with ganja. stay home and grow or go to cali and bring back thats where you make the money. just make sure its passed threw as least amount of hands as possible.

the honest truth is unless you have out of state connections and want to break serious laws growing pot in ca is not profitable unless you can do it on a massive scale outdoors

An investment shouldn't take 4 years to pull off. Unless you're very well known or have extremely good contacts it would probably be hard to break into. I think the supply of dispensaries meets customer demand over there already. If you wanted to turn up in Barca and set up it'd be near impossible.

You forgot to mention one of the highest suicide rates of any profession.......... with socialized medicine on the way, becoming a Dr. of anything is NOW a poor choice. People are leaving the field in droves.

Politics, meh.

Even considering the politics, NM is right there with AZ and UT.

But really it's all about the people.

NM is 90% vatos.
New Mexico is nothing like AZ or UT in politics nor is it 90 percent anything. The closest percentage to 90 would be 83 percent and that's the white folks.

Maybe waaaaay up north where you're at.

But most of the population and all of the major "towns" from sf on south (and sf is pretty far north, but you know that) are extremely ghetto, getting progressively worse the closer you get to the border.

You really don't know what you're talking about. That's a state wide percentage per government census. And I'm sure the people in Las Cruces will say you're full of shit about being ghetto. And just so you know, "north" is where most of the Hispanic communities reside. We call it North of the Tortilla Belt.
