How strong is the smell

I am beyond green when it comes to anything dealing with MJ. Haven't even touched the stuff since I was in college, so bear with me as I show my ignorance.

How strong smelling are the plants? I've read a few posts that talk about how someone got busted b/c they could smell (not the smoked parts) but the actual growing plants themselves?! Is this stuff just wafting out through window cracks and door jams? What about the varieties that are listed as having bubblegum and citrus scents...they're still going to stink up an entire house as well?

Is there anything you can compare it to? Roses, marigolds, skunk...something to give me an idea?

Are there varieties that are low-odor? And by low-odor, I'd really like to know if there are some that have very little scent, period, and not just very little scent compared to the heavy odor varieties. What about the lowryder 1's? And what if you just kept it to one med plant or several dwarf varities (3-4 max), would that still cause a largely noticeable aroma? Bear in mind that this is with no fancy grow boxes or special odor eliminating fans.

Thank you. I've been hopping around and trying to get at the info that's already posted. I realize that having repetative questions can be aggrevating, but everytime I look at one thread, another one catches my eye, and I'm either left to ponder another facet of growing or looking in stunned awe at someone's plant pics.

I've heard people describe Lowryders as stealth, so I think those might be a good choice. Will look into the Northern Lights 5 as posted.
