How tall are your plants at 3 weeks from seed?

Because mine is only 5 inches tall ,i am using a 250 watt hps with duel spectrum in potting compost which has nutrients in in for 9 weeks of growth.

It is " ice cream " from paradise seeds.I initially bought 2 seeds from pick n mix , but one sprouted with deformed leaves. So i got this one ice cream which was slow to get going but is making good progress now ,The nodes are really close together making it really small but bushy. It is healthy but i do think it rather short for it's age,i heard that hps light makes for tighter internodes as the plant doesn't need to stretch ,which will be a good thing....but i'll need to veg for longer..which is bad....

what is your views on this? how do your plants perform?

Yes I have topped her twice and am doing LST as well. She is in MG. NOT my usual soil. And she is under 2 fluoro tubes. No room in my tent with the HID until I harvest.

I keep my T5's no more than an inch away from the tops causing them to stay super short and bushy. At the time of the photo they were about 5-6 inches tall with 10-12 nodes. I like to keep them short and bushy so when it comes time to go under the 1000, they will still have lots of foliage with lots of room to PMS stretch ;) Now the canopy is so full that I think I may have to do some lolli popping since it's dark as hell under the canopy. That photo was taken in October. Check out the link in my sig to see what they look like today ;) These plants are now 2.5 weeks into flower and my, how they have grown since this photo. I just posted new photos a few minutes ago in my journal. Check it out and let me know what you think :)

EDIT: I guess it would be much easier to just post a couple photos in this thread instead of forcing you to finger through my journal :P Here are those same 5, taken just 30 minutes ago.

I think your under the impression that you want your plants to grow vertically, this isnt really any benefit at all, what you want is lots of foliage on a short plant. You want your nodes to be as tight as possible. The plant is going to stretch when you put it into flower anyways and the taller it is going into flower the taller its going to get which then becomes a problem because you have to raise your lights so high that barely any of the light gets down to the lower leaves. So dont worry about height, what your aiming for is lots of leaves and nodes. Heres a picture of mine at 3 weeks, this is my first grow btw. Didnt have any rooting hormones so that might be why they arent quite as large as some of the others

i'm not really worried about the height ,the only issue is i wanna flower as soon as possible .i switch when it gets to 1 foot tall, i kinda don't wanna veg for 6 weeks but it looks like i'm gonna have to with this strain. My last grow was bag seed turned out to be really sativa and took like 3 weeks to veg to 1 foot in the same conditions.i wish i knew strain name of that bagseed ,i got another one out of the same batch growing again and it is starting out just as strong, hope its a fem !

Out of 8 seeds, only 2 where female and they both are growing differently. I guess that is what bag seeds are all about.
