how tall does the plant have to be before it buds? reason im asking is ive seen people grow in a pc growbox and i dont understand how they stop it from growing taller then the box? two of my plants are starting to have yellow tips and spots. I think its because they are to close to the light. do you just switch it to 12/12? or is there something els?

It's all relative to the growing conditions although some strains will grow taller than others, I.e sativas will grow tall and lanky and indicas tend to be shorter and bushier, but you can make plants flower earlier or later by switching the light to 12/12. I think with pc grow boxes people just top the plants to stop new growth where they want, I built one but I don't use it cause it's the most ghetto thing on the planet. As for the yellow spots it could be quite a few things, pictures would help

unless you got auto flowering plants (which I doubt you have, unless you bought them specifically for that reason), you have to switch them to 12/12 for them to bud. you grow in a pc box by going 12/12 from start, so the plant doesn't get to big. remember, after you switch to 12/12 the plant will keep growing for 2 weeks and will double if not triple or quadruple in size.
