How to effectively use a light mover.

If I have a 4x8 grow tent, and an air or liquid cooled 1000whps on a light mover. Where do I position the light? It can either be

A) almost touching the plants (so the other plants further down the line are not getting a lot of light, while the plants under the light for that moment are getting all the light.)

B) set the light higher so that all the plants are getting light but the light is still moving side to side yet losing lumens because the light is backed up further from the plants.

?????????? Which is more efficient?

Plus w/ choice B the light will not penetrate further down through the plants canopy. But with choice A the plants on one side of the tent might not be getting any light for half the time since the light will be on either side of the tent.

i would also like to hear someone who has used one to give their opinion. I dont think anyone who uses a 1000 watts on a cool tube with or without a light mover will get closer than a foot.

Bump, I have a tent the same size and ordered one 1000w digi ballast - wondering if I need another or can I use a mover?

i dont have a light mover but from what i have read one of the positive things about them is you can have the light closer to the plants because it doesn't spend the whole time under that heat.....so i would say put them as close as you can.....I mean do you really expect it to grow completely uniformly? that will never happen except with a scrog
