how to get hermie?

so i was reading a thread and became conserned, i read that drop in low temp at night can cause plants to tunr hermie? can you specify at what temps will cause this?

Alsow i heard light leaks can cause this, what does this mean? Is it when some of your light is leaking out or does it mean that when your on night cycle and light gets in? And what els can cause it to turn male or hermie?

more often it is higher temps that will cause the hermi trait to express itself. Light leaks refer to light leaking in during the dark cycle. generally any environmental stresses can cause a plant to express a recessive hermi gene. the hermi mutation existed in nature in many land race sativa strains and as a result was bred unknowingly into much of todays genepool. Plants with no hermi tendancies do exist, but they are exeptionally hard to find.

any stress the plant experiences can lead to making a hermie. i think pH, light and temp are the worst ones to stress it with

if you get a hermi its because it always was a hermi no matter what.
