How to make plants stretch?

Hey everybody,

I know, everybody is usually against stretching plants, but currently I'm on 10th day of flower under 600w hps in wilma 8 with "advanced hydro of holland" nutes, and the plants are only 30cm/one foot tall. I know they will stretch more, But I would need them to be at least 1-1.5meters tall(by harvest), as I have 2 meter space.

I started to flower them when they started producing alternating branches...

I'm using now the flowering nutes mix, so about 10ml grow, 15ml bloom, 8ml micro for 10 liters.

I would like them to stretch, so I could use up the space more better, now they're just packed up.

What would be the good distance for hps without loss of light for plants to induce stretching?

Please advice:peace:

If you want to try and stretch them, put the lamp at least 3 feet above them. Usually, the plants will stretch the most within the first 2 weeks of switching the light cycle (without having to raise the lamp), so if it doesn't stretch within a week or so, then it may not stretch too much more. Have the roots run out space to grow (root-bound)? That will definitely prevent stretching and growing from occurring.

Don't raise the light. Increase the nitrogen. Increased nitrogen causes them to stretch naturally during the first phase of flowering. Raising the light will make them leggy.

Marijuana will stretch for about 40% of their Flowering time. That means that a strain that takes ten weeks to flower will stretch for roughly four weeks. A seven week strain will stretch for about three weeks.

Just be careful with increasing the N. If your PPM of N is increased too much, two things will happen: 1.) Nutrient lockout and 2) Nutrient burn
If the plant looks yellow in certain spots, then you should increase the N. However, if you have been giving it enough ferts and it seems to be responding well, then don't increase it too much more. Basically, just be smart and pay attention to the plant before increasing the N levels drastically.
