How To Prevent Mold?

The way I do it is I top my plants. so instead of one big nug I have several medium bud tops. I live in hawaii where Relative Humidity is at 90%. This is the only way I grow because if I leave a big cola on top it all gets mold. By the way, only top a plant in veg, then give it 4 days to a week to heal so it doesn't hermie in flower.

Think there are a few sprays that are safe to treat the buds with. Coulda swore I saw fdd posting about it a while a go. Bud rot stop? Something like that. But yea low humidity and lotsa airflow

I keep two oscillating fans blowing 24/7 . I am on my 5th grow and I have never seen mold in my grow op.

And I can back this up......in fact I have proof. I haven't had any issues with my current grow, but about 5 days ago, for noise issues, I decided to turn my oscillating and stationary fans off at night, and left my exhaust running.

Within 2 days, one of my plants got a tiny "rash" of bud rot on one of the upper leaves that was showing deficiency. The leaf became mushy, and pulled out very easily. Very small area, but it can spread quickly. I put that plant right next to a stationary fan, in the hopes I can dry it out a little quicker. If she doesn't improve by tonight, or it has spread more on the plant or it's sisters, she is going to be harvested early.....and rot cut out of the bud before drying.

I have ALWAYS run my circulating fans (as well as exhaust) 24/7 before................and I had never experienced bud rot prior to this.

throw a black light on a timer to come on every hour for 15 min

Good things to do to avoid mold;

-No over watering
-Good airflow (2-3 oscillating fan)
-Adding a dehumidifier

If you ever mold. Sulfur burner can control the problem but honestly you should not have any problems if you respect those things to do above.
