How to tell when it's 3 weeks before harvest?

Hello everyone,
I'm having a hard time trying to figure out the best time to harvest. I have 3 plants that I'm doing a 10 week flowering schedule. I'm not sure if it will actually be 10 weeks or not, but this is what I'm going by.



Going by that, I stop the Big bud and start the overdrive in week 8. If I add another week, I would do that in week 9 and so on.... People say when the trichs are half amber it's time to harvest, but the last couple crops I had trying to do that, the trichs never turned amber and I think I went way too long waiting for that to happen and the thc production really sucked.

These are suppose to be Liberty Haze, but let's just say we don't know the strain. How can you tell we're about 3 weeks from harvest?? That's what I really need to know, because that's when I drop the big bud and add the overdrive for 2 weeks before the week of flush. Buds 1/4 red hairs?? What do you guys recommend?

get a magnifier. and look at the bud formation, as pistils turn briwn, red amber and shorten up your getting closer to harvest. as trichs fill they get cloudy then they curl over before amber and burst, overdrive when you see cloudyness, flush when they curl over.
i would big bud and overdrive at cloudyness then overdrive then flush..

Awesome! Thank you grownups! I'll start the overdrive for those two weeks when the trichs are cloudy. I'm not sure I get what you mean by "curl over" though.

And haze plants are generally a much lonnger flowering strain. I had one that went 16 weeks.

Keep a journal, and after you harvest go back 21 days, that will be your 3 week mark.
