hps light...problem with assembly HELP ASAP

I have a question about my new hps light. On the reflector hood and attatched to the thing that the socket there is a white green and black cables. They attatch to the ballast? thingy. anyways how do they connect? There is like a little plastic piece looks like a phone jack and there is a whole in the middle, but how do I get the white green and black cables to stay connected?

aight i think i got it hooked up but when i plugged it in all it does is hum....Is there typically a on/off switch somewhere on the light?

hahahah, aight nevermind figured it out, I have the light about 12-18 inches depending on the size of the plant away from the light, will this be ok?

what the fuck does that have to do with helping him??? as far as HPS is concerned, depending on how tall your plants are, as long as its vented good, you can keep it a few inches away..

good rule of thumb, if you put your hand under the light where the plant should be and its too hot, its too hot for the plant...
