Just looking for some suggestions for organic in soil what would you recomend and why??? any info would be greatly appreciated

i think a HID light is a high intensity discharge light. a HPS (high pressure sodium) is one type of HID light. a MH (metal halide) is another.
i don't think growing in soil vs hydro has anything to do with your light selection. typically people use a MH to veg with and switch to an HPS to bud with although you can use both or either one through your entire grow.

What lighting you want to go with depends on a lot of things.
How many plants are you trying to go, how much space do you have, how much are you willing to spend, will heat and ventilation be a problem.
Answer those questions and we can start recommending lighting.

HID is high intensity discharge lighting and is used to describe both MH and HPS systems.
In general MH bulbs have more blue light and will encourage thick compact foliage and are best for vegetative growth.
HPS are higher in the red orange spectrum of light and are best for flowering. They basically put out more light and that means larger buds but will not be as compact as the MH grown plants. They will have more space between internodes and be taller typically.
You can use either of these lights for all stages of growth no problem though that's just the ideal uses for them. You can buy systems that will run both bulbs so all you gotta do is change the bulbs if you wanted to but it's not necessary. If you were only going to buy one HID system I think most people would recommend going HPS because the yeild is better but I am running all MH in my closet.

trying for 5 to 10 plants I've got room, about 15 by 9 foot room trying to make different sections. money wize not an issue looking for like a 600 watt light but heard different things about the difference. Im leaning towards HPS but was just trying to get suggestions for starting out you know?? kuz i got a MH right now in veg but wanted to upggrade.
