HPS or MH for Veg?

Hey all,

Now i understand that the colour temperature of MH's are great for vegging, but almost every grow i look at they veg under an HPS? Any particular reason?

I haven't seen a single thread where they veg under HPS... but I use glasses and semi blind

id say just because most people dont have both mh and hps. and since vegging with hps is easier, and cheaper than actually buying a MH most just go for it. there may be some stretching with HPS. but the plant response is usually very good. its kinda like killing two birds with one stone. just veg with cfl's. personally i think MH are just a waste of time.
