Hps vs cfl

So I can get 2 150watt hps and ballasts free. Right now I run 320 watts of cfl..... I'm assuming hps will be better right? Now what about temps... For 2 hps compared to 300 watts of cfl... I have my cfls right above the plants,about 1 inch. Temps are around 87... How hot do hps really get? I would be able to keep the hps about 2.5 -30 feet above the plants

would use cfls for veg, hps for flower. hps will generate a good amount of heat, cfls arent usually as bad.

You are going to want to keep small HIDs pretty close to the plant. 300w of HPS is going to be from double to triple the heat of 300w of CFL.

I wouldn't assume that, why don;t you let us know how it compares after you try it?
