humidity and heat.......

Hey RIU,

as everyone knows its summertime, and where i live in the desert in southern ca the temps are already 110 f and hotter......my room currently is a 13x13ft room...has 4 1000 (4000wt)watt ballast, i have a portable a/c in the room 10,000 btu, 2 12 gallon humidifiers along with a 10 gallon evaporative cooler as well....i have the 4 lights on 2 seperate exaust outlets (2 lights per exhaust). i have 2 700 cfm inline fans and 2 6" booster fans so that all lights are getting the same amount of air movement.....my temps with all these things goin are still 85 degrees with 48-50% rh. The 4 ballast are in the room with the plants...if i moved the ballast out of the room how big of difference would the rh and heat be?? i dont think my heat issue is from the lights themselves cause you can literally rest your face on the hoods and touch the glass and everything without even remotely burning yourself.....i just notice little drafts here and there and i can only think that its the ballast...any ideas...ive checked for air leaks..the room is sealed very well..any ideas guys?? my 2nd grow only would much appreciate a hand....Thanks

You gotta move them heaters outside the room. Most ballasts give off a shit-ton of heat.Sounds like your doing it right minus the ballasts, that room is gunna rock. 85 is a little high and your A/C is maybe a little undersized. I'm running 2200 watts in a 12x12x10 with a 12,000 btu with half the fans and all is well.Might be able to cover the ballast and vent outside if moving is an issue. At the very least you could mount them up high with the rest of the heat. Good luck

Ac is too small, Those ballasts give out heat but not enough to outdo a 10000 btu AC. Ur rooms not insulated well enough maybe. U have a big room with bunch of lights, If I were U I would invest in a 1/2 or 1 hp chiller. They're kindda pricy but extremely efficient. throw a couple Ice boxes in there and U'll never have a problem with heat again.
