Humidity in the Cabinet - I'm Afraid Lights Will Break Due to Water? Help!

Here's the deal. This is my first grow (feel free to check it out in my sig), and I have a couple questions about the humidity of the cabinet. Right now it seems rather dry, and this is only with CFL's in it, not even the 400w MH or HPS so I feel like it will only get drier when the big lights go in. I don't have a humidity meter, but am in the process of getting one, so I can't say for sure what it's currently at - it just feels relatively dry. Now maybe it's OK, and I just don't know it (like i said, this is my first grow) - is it supposed to feel like a rain forest in there, or just like a normal day outside?

My other question is whether or not it would be safe to add a small humidifier or something. I am afraid that water will get on the CFL's (or MH or HPS bulb once it's in) and potentially break it.

Any help is appreciated.

don't worry about water on cfl's it's not brake them but carefully with mh and hps they are really breakable.if you feel in your grow room like normal sunny day outside its ok i think.go and grab some humidity meter.

buy a hygrometer before you purchase toilet paper. wipe your ass with the receipt and ask for paper not plastic. it will be the best thing you can purchase. imo

IMO go to Freddy's or Walmart or w/e and buy a 6 dollar thermometer/RH meter combo and put it close to where your plants are (i put mine taped to the wall at the same level as my plants).

Try to get 50-60% RH (relative Humidity), your plants should do very well in that climate.
