Hydro Medium

Hello all. I've done a lot of searching, but can't find a simple aanswer to my question.

I have a small hydro setup ("Cash Crop" box from Dealzer), CFL's, small tank. I have been using Rapid Rooters and 2" net pots. I picked up some 3.75" net pots for my next grow, and need to know the best medium to use for the larger pots. Clay pellets?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I've been using lava rocks for 8+ years now, ebb/flow & dwc. Works great, cheap as hell, superior water to air ratio, stays moist much much longer than clay pebbles, and most importantly, added benefit of trace elements and minerals and silica that the plant can use. Clay pebbles are overpriced and do not offer any of the above. Beside, if your power goes out, the moisture held by the lava rocks will allow your roots to continue to thrive for about 4-5 additional days without water (possibly longer, haven't tried going that far yet). With clay pebbles, your plant would be dead the next day, if not the same day. Good luck.
