First grow in dwc and the plants were WAY to close together. It turned out ok but the roots of 3 plants are tangled together. 2 females and just found out the 3rd was a male today. He was super stressed, really weak, and doesnt look like any sacks opened up but he had root rot. I freaked out, pulled whatever roots I could up and cut him out of the root tangle mess to separate him from the females. Now Im freaking out about what effect this will have on the other two plants. They have less than 4 weeks left in flowering! I only have to feed them for another 2-3 weeks. I dont wanna lose them now!!! Too much work. +rep!!

To be honest Im not sure if it is root rot or just stained roots from my nute solution. Its organic and stains everything. The roots were very strong, not slimy, and didnt stink, but the roots of the plant I cut out are gonna die right away. should I give them a hydrogen peroxide bath and get rid of all the dying roots?

If you change out your reservoir regularily, like once a week, and keep temps down you should be fine. If you suspect root rot use a little H2O2 every now and then to halt it in its tracks. You can use the sort that you find in a pharmacy, but horticultural grade is much better.

Thanks a lot for your help guys. Unfortunately, one answer raises a few more questions :) Here are my last qestions on the subject:
1) Im running a 10G DWC rez filled with 6 gallons of nute solution at 1000ppm. Do I add the H2O2 into the nute solution or do I flush it for a few days with only water and H2O2? 2)If you just add it to the nute solution, how long until you change back to the normal solution without the H2O2?
3) Wont 2tsp/gallon (or in my case 60ml) really raise the ppm's above acceptable level? Do I have to dilute the solution enough to compensate for the H2O2 and keep my ppm's the same?

thank you!
