Hydroponic (first two pics) - some leaves are curling downward lengthwise. What is this from. Soil (pic 3)-Soil plant, some leaves seem crimpled.. Some leaves are very light brown/crispy at the tips can be seen in background of pic 1 and 2 on left.

What kind of Hydro system are you running?
Nutes?
pH?
Ec?
Temps?
Age?

lots more info required but at first glance it looks like pH or overfeeding problems.

My ph is at about 6.8, im using just a 10 gallon container with an air rock. They are about 4 months old. Im using GH nutes, I dont know the temps, my thermometer fell and broke. I feel like the dry crispy tips came from a period of too much heat. It was all covered with little ventilation. Ive slightly uncovered the box during the day, to let the heat leave out.. Anyone know the best tool for testing Ph. This is all my first grow, so buying everything has been done in intervals. I finally just bought a filter and inline fan.. I figured that if it were nute burn, that the surface of the leaves would be burnt as well, in between, on the sections, plus on the tips and edges. I think it was too much heat. But I dont see any pics anywhere with the same, light brown crispy tips..

The leaves are all a medium green. The light makes them look more of a yellow. But they are all a healthy green. Its just those tips. Ive since fixed those folding leaves. I dont know what happened.

6.8 is on the high side for DWC try get it down to 6, might help. just get a dropper test kit or a digital PH tester. Do you know your ppm/ec/cf?
Also if those holes are open constantly and letting light into the res you will get algae sooner or later

GH nutes build up salt and lock up so bad it's ridiculous. Just real easy to overdo them. When was the last time you dumped the reservoir and cleaned it? Take a little CLR to that airstone and components.

Let your plants spend a few minutes in plain ph down'd water to detox a little bit. Get some cal/mag and start using it, too.

Mostly your issue in the pics is heat stress.

His PH is too high, too. And it just looks really dirty in there. Hydro don't like that. And it looks like his tub has holes exposing the res to the light of the grow area. I shudder to think what his roots look like.

oh that Rez has its own zip code, for sure.

I clean the rez often. the space around gets dirty quick because of the crispy leaves. lol. My roots look pretty nice actually, very white. No brown. no algea growth. I tried to prevent the whole light problem with the white caps, but those things suck. Suppose I can just figure something else out.. and plantcity, a zipcode? haha. My water is pretty clean. Anyone have any suggestions on keeping the light out of the tub. Maybe I should put a layer of something around the whole thing. It is my first grow so I am still learning all this.
