hydroponic system or old school dirt

Joe --

I'm going to agree with GanjaMan on this one. I've just joined this board and have put up quite a few responses so far today :-) and I don't want to sound preachy or adamantly pro dirt etc so I'll give it a go --

I started with hydro myself a little over four years ago. It was an abject failure. I'm a smart guy and love to tinker with things, which is great for hydro because you tend to tinker quite a bit with the PH/PPM/rez temps etc etc. So, I gave up on it and converted to growing in old fashioned dirt, Sunshine mix #4. Dirt is much easier and much more forgiving for a beginner and an experienced hand like myself. I don't think I will ever go back to hydroponics, unless I move to the space station or the moon and start the first dope plantation up there :-P

go hydro definitely.

If your tap water is within a point of normal then it's EASY. Follow the directions on the nutes you choose and use a good lighting system and you can grow all year long, and NEVER see a bug!

Faster grows, higher yields, and as long as you flush properly, buds that taste as good or better than dirt.

If that doesn't convince you then go get dirty!

I agree, but for most nutes, you should start a 1/4 strength and move from there, some nutes are cannabis special, like HESI.

What a douche... hehe jk

Actually thats kinda right.

Hydro is for advanced people. Things happen quickly. And the experienced one can see the prob and know what to do to fix it quick enough.

Soil, is FAR more forgiving, and allows for slower reactions before a crop is dead.
