Given enough veg leaf and bud leaf trimmings, you can make some nice batches of good quality oil or ice-o-lator type hash.

The traditional method for hand made hash is to beat buds onto a finely woven mat or plastic sheet. The resulting 'powder' on the mat is gathered together, and mixed with some water to assist in making it into a plasticine type consistency.
True Nepalese Royal Hash Balls were made by old women in the highlands who would sit on the mats and spit into the trichome/resin mixture and roll squash ball sized spheres of hash. They would be a shiny Black on the outside. When broken open, the inside was a rich, dark caramel colour. Genuine Royal Nepalese hash was considered the best hash in the world at one point.
