I have a few questions with uv rays and glasses

I'm curious if my HPS/MH bulbs give any harmful UV rays like being in there working on them, I currently have 3200 total watts mix of hps/mh, one hood the rest are hanging, and also I'm noticing a problem with my eyes having to adjust to the light and hurting them from being in there too long, and I don't directly look at the bulbs or anything, what is a good kind of glasses or something i can use to help me while I'm working in there?

always wear a good pair of sunglasses in the flower room, make sure they are uv proof. i love my maui jim glasses.

Yes, they put out harmful UV. I recommend not working with your lights on. Get a green LED head lamp or install green bulbs to work.

If you must work with the lights on I recommend welding goggles for a vertical setup and at least UV resistant shades for standard setups.

Sunscreen too if you must work with the lights on. I just advise, in general, to work with them off. The truth is though, MH & HPS lamps don't put out so much UV that you should worry excessively about skin cancer. Your eyes are more sensitive. If you are supplementing with UVB bulbs, definitely never ever ever, go into your room when they are on. They can burn you in minutes.

Ive also worried about the electromagnetic field put out by running multiple ballasts side by side. I know its discussed somewhere...

I tried going into my room with a pair of 'REAL 3D' glases from the cinema.
It was mental. It was like I was actually there.

Depends on the light intensity (basically how close together the bulbs are) And there are 2 real dangers, skin cancer and eye damage. Keep in mind that, compared to tanning beds and the sun, MH/HPS bulbs are pretty safe.

If you break a MH conversion bulb, it will probably keep working. DO NOT keep using it -- it emits a ton of harmful radiation, enough that it will even kill plants in a couple days. Apparently the inner part is also a huge fire / explosion / burn risk.
