I Made Some ISO Hash. Questions

First grow back after 5 years off. I made BHO a couple times back in the day, but this is the first time I tried ISO hash. I would have done BHO, but I don't have any butane and keep forgetting to buy any...

Anyhow, this is what I started out with:



Here's what I ended up with. A little ISO splashed over the filter when I was straining so there's a tiny bit of plant material in it, but it's only a crumb or two.



How much hash does that look like to you? Half a gram? I've never bought or even seen hash before So I have no idea.

Leaves soaked in isopropyl alcohol will make a very low quality of hash, we're sorry to say. Much of the chlorophyll and other harsh stuff in the leaves comes over in the solution. What you have there might be more comparable to resin. We don't want to criticize your product, we just want you to know what you've got & not give up on hash if it doesn't turn out well. It is still wet because you probably used less than 100% pure alcohol. The water used to dilute it will take longer to evaporate than the actual alcohol. A little heat will help.

Well I did it the way everyone else does it and they all seem to like it. Clearly hash of this type isn't going to be as "pure" as BHO, but comparable to resin? I very seriously doubt it.

There's nothing wrong with your method. The way you made it is perfectly fine. However, if you try the same thing with buds, even small, less potent popcorn buds, you'll get a much stronger, smoother and more flavorful hash.

Do let the water dry before trying it. Aside from being stronger when dry, wet material of that sort will usually crackle and spit in your face when heated.

Well I smoked a bowl of some Nirvana Wonder Woman and a rice sized piece of this stuff and I'm roasted enough to make Kenny Rogers jealous. I'd say I'm at least twice as stoned as I'd be with just bud alone. I guess I can't complain. Might try smoking some of the hash all by itself later on.

Prolly stick to BHO in the future though.

I agree with Mothers Finest. Tried it for the first time using buds and 99% isopropyl and only let it soak 30 seconds and shook hard for 30 seconds. Dried in no time and product was excellent.
