I would like to start a little setup with 2- 1000 watt lights, I'm thinking 32 plants in soil. do you think a 4x8 area or a 5x8 area would be better for overall yeild? How many plants would you put into the same area. I'm gonna be growin some kind of kush(pic)? I am aiming to yeild 3 lbs at minimum is that a realistic goal? I'm also gonna order some hashberry and satrori from Madala seeds. Any advice would be a huge help.:peace:The first pic is the kush(I didn't grow) the second and the third pic is a little of my outdoor curing up.

No matter how you slice it, soil grow require 3 gal pots this will allow you 1 plant per sq. ft. max. You.... will not be able to get into the room with a 4' x8' or a 5' by 8'. A grow room with no room is a pain in the ass. What is the rest of you plan? WHere are you in the process, budget, needs etc. 3oz per plant may be a tall order. VV

Naw I don't need 3 ounces per plant I need 1.5 minimum per plant. I am making a room inside a room. I could just make a door on both sides so it would be pretty easy to access. Basically I want to work around the plants instead of in with the plants so I don't have to move more than one plant to get at another one. btw 5x8 is the size of most area rugs and I think I could definitley get 32 females into that area.

Budget isn't really an issue I think I can do this for under a g though. I'll mix my own soiless mix since it's way cheaper and less conspicuous than buying 40 bags in the end of november. I'm gonna veg under some shop lights in 1 gallon pots until they pre-flower or 2ft. max height. I don't see any need for a metal halide for veg it just seems like a waste of money. I've started germinating some seeds yesterday and I'll order from dr. chronic on sat. Next weekend I'll have the lights and nutes. The build date is on Dec. 1st. So i only have 15 DAYS OF PLANNING LEFT, basically I would like to make sure my hose aint got no kinks dig it?

I think you need to do some reading. Check out the FAQ at the top of the page. I think you are reaching for stars with 3 lbows minimum with only 2000 watts. Growing from clone you maybe able to get 32 plants but those would be small .5-1oz plants this gives you about 2lbs. Some of the most experienced growers are harvesting little over .5grams per watt of HPS light.I am not saying 3lbs cant be done but for starters you need to read the FAQs there is a ton of info there and all over this site. Good Luck on your adventures!

if you dont want big plants, you can grow in 2l. coke bottles with holes in the bottom and top cut off, im going to do this in my s.o.g. grow im setting up, im just started some clones. the person who told me that you can do this, seemed to know what he was talking about.

I've done 2 indoor ops previously one sog with 12plants and one where I let 4 preflower first around 1.5-2 feet tall before flower and I will never do sog again since I'm not doing this for money and don't need a rotational crop. I just find the quality of larger plants to be higher than that of smaller plants.

What about the concept of a SOG but in 3 gallon pots... no pinching of course...send me a feeding chart that is in ur plans and i can help.

I think I'll be using earth juice nutrients for veg and bloom, while adding budswel in flowering. Basically it's sea of green for the lazy man. cause if I was doing this in 1 gal pots I'd have to move alot of plants around and it's just too much work that way.

I just did the estimates for the monthly cost of electricity and I'm looking at about 100 per month for this grow and I'm not worried about using too much electricity since I only use cfl's in my house and I know how to turn shit off when I don't use it.

in a 5x8 i put in 54 plants under a 1000 and a 600,i had 6 rows of 5 and 4rows of 6 they were the 3 gal pots and yielded 2pounds 14 oz.when there was 2 1000 got 3 elbos exactly,it was my first grow.

i hope you arent an art major. just kidding. i see you have drawn the two lamps going through one another and then through the carbon filter. i heard this air is too hot for the filter to be effective. in addition make sure the exhaust is adequately recycling the room enough to bring in fresh air and to bring out hot air. so basically get an exhaust fan strong enough for venting through two 1000 reflectors and an additional scrubber exhaust fan for the grow area. again this scrubber should be strong enough to vent out all the air in the space every three to five minutes. if i misinterpreted your drawing forgive me but thats what im seeing right now. your design is aggressive. i hope you get your three pounds. and even if you get 2 thats pretty fucking nice.

2 1000s are intense. they would give off a decent amount of heat in my estimation. then if the room is small it could end up raising the ambient temperature and throwing everything off. air cooled is good though. hopefully you can get that hot air away from your grow environment.

At first I thought about runing the two lamps through one another and then through the filter but then I decided I'll just modify some venting hose so that it's one hose going into the fan but it'll have a seperate tube for both lights. Basically it will make a Y. and yes ofcourse I'm using two exhausts with filters one for the lights one for the room.:peace:

yep that's what I estimated i think it would be hard to do under 3bos off this setup. I mean come on people a 1000 watt works best in a 4x4 area so if you have two you need a 8x4 but I'm adding the extra foot to make it 8x5 so the plants can spread abit and I have a teeny bit of room.
