Does anyone have a good "recipe" that I buy everything at a Home Depot . And also can anyone link me to what nutes you guys use??

Seems to be a tough name brand to find in some parts of the country. I just use a mixture of cheap topsoil, sand, and perlit and have had great success with it. That's the kind of shit I can find at Home Depot here.

I do the same, but I bake my soil in the oven first to kill potential pests.

Your links are dead for me.

Dude, everyone seems to overthink this. I can't quote what the bags look like. Most Lowe's and Home Depot's contract in topsoil bags, sandbags, and other assorted stuff in their garden dept. from local companies who specialize in such. A bag of sand in Dallas will be different from Miami, etc... Just grab the cheap "Top soil" bag. No brand name, no nutrients, nothing. Just cheap dirt. Same thing with the sand, just play sand. The perlite I have only found at the local Ace Hardware. Haven't seen it at Lowes or Home Depot, but then again I haven't looked for it there either...

LIke I said, nothing special, just the cheap stuff.

My reason for this being this way is as follows, maybe I'm wrong, but this my line of thinking for soming up with my own witches brew... The seedling gets it's nutrients from the seed. Any more than what nature intended, and you end up with nute burn. This is why MG dirt sucks. It's near impossible to find anything MG that isn't 3 month feeding. You throw that on top of what the little thing is getting from it's natural food source and you NUKE it. You can get away with using the cheap dirt because you're going to supply the seedling with nutes of your choice when you hit the 3 week mark.

alright thanks..Do you just dump everything into one container and mix it or do you measure it????
