I think i am in big trouble. allo advice and suggestions is appreciated.

First of all, I know what I did in the first place is wrong and I do not want to be lectured on how I shouldnt shoplift. Yesterday, I was caught shoplifting a pair of pants I needed for a job and I didnt have the money to buy it. Well I got caught, and they searched my purse. Inside I had a pill bottle with less than a gram, mostly shake and stems. I also had my boyfriend's green bay packers bowl (which when he finds out the police took it, will be very upset). Well they wrote me two summons, one for shoplifting (which is my second offense:sad:) and another one for possesion of marijuana code number 18.2-250.1. They didn't write me for a paraphenalia charge, which I thought they would of. I currently have a restricted license with some limitations. two years ago I also had a charge with possesion of controlled substance for my adderall. I didnt have the prescription handy at the time of the charge, but it was later dropped and I had to do vasap. Can I fight this? Could I also get a court appointed attorney before my court date? I know I will need an attorney for this. Another question I have is will these charges show on my public record, like the court websites? I do not want anyone to stuble upon it. I have saught online legal advice about this. I'm just really scared at this point. Thank you.

Restricted licence for driving on prescription adderall ? you should of been able to get that one gone already? a dr's note worked when I got my dui and they claimed something other than

People who do not have a high level of street smarts or are not VERY cleaver/cunning should not do criminal acts....Do you fit in? You can fight this and You can get a public defender if you are broke. Which it seems you are. You should not expect much from a court appointed lawyer though.Perry Mason is not a public defender.You will have a criminal record,unless you can defeat the charges and it will be open to anyone who inquires. Another mistep and you will prob. do time.If you don't go straight at least you will come out a better criminal and won't get caught as often.

Apparently I do fit in, but like I said I needed the pants for a job I am going to be starting. I was looking for legal advice and since I have a possesion charge, I was thinking I would start here. Thank you though

No my license is restricted due to reckless driving - I have a heavy foot, along with sticky fingers. The adderall charge I got was from a cop going through my bag and found my medicine.

With your record, light, and the fact it was a small amount you will most likely get prob. As far as public records, it is what is
U not going to do time for this but you need to watch out in the future. Everyone has cameras these days and the small shops that dont watch you like a hawk

in denver they've been known to cuff you and then beat your ass for shoplifting, guess you got lucky. any thief that claims morals/ethics because they do petty theft on corporations is just lying to themselves.

OUCH, VA is no joke I know..... Best of Luck Im guessing you will see at least 6 months maybe half suspended. Nice to see another VA face here. Best of luck!

listen take this as a lesson learned. dont steal its pretty simple.
if you to salvation army or any thrift store they sell cloths cheap and they are pretty decent. just got to look.

you can probably get out of the weed charge if you can make 50$ and take a day drug class and provide evidence to the courts prior to trial.

anyways i dont fell like lecturing, what you look like? ;)

It depends on alot of factors, who searched your purse and did you allow them to search it, or did they just take it? Because if you didn't authorize them to look you might be able to fight it, lets hear what happen exactly

Getting caught for shoplifting gives them probable
cause to search the purse.

Might I suggest living by your means. Should have bought the pants started the job and then bought the bag of pot. Or maybe borrow $2 and grab a pair at the salvation army. Shit this is basic logic, till you figure it out enjoy your time in county lockup.
